February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month.

Blue River Career Programs offers multiple educational options to students in Shelby County. Here is a look at one of its programs.

The Social and Community Services program prepares students for meaningful careers helping individuals, families, and communities.

Through hands-on learning, real-world case studies, and career-focused instruction, students explore topics such as mental health, crisis intervention, family systems, grief and loss, and ethical helping practices.

The program builds essential skills including communication, empathy, problem-solving, and professionalism while introducing students to careers in social work, counseling, community support, and human services.
