Triton Central girls soccer will need just one win to reach the sectional championship match. Shelbyville will need two to reach its sectional finale.
The Indiana High School Athletic Association revealed the sectional pairings Sunday night for the 33rd Annual Girls Soccer State Tournament.
A total of 280 girls teams will begin sectional tournament on Oct. 5. The regional semifinal matches are slated for Oct. 14-15 with regional championships to follow on Oct. 17.
Whiteland Sectional
The eight team, Class 3A sectional field at Whiteland is loaded. There are four state-ranked teams and three more teams with at least eight wins.
Shelbyville (8-6) will battle the host Warriors (8-5-1) in a quarterfinal round match. The winner will face either No. 5 Center Grove (10-2-1) or Franklin (9-5) in the semifinal round.
The other quarterfinal matches are Columbus East (1-10-1) taking on No. 18 Columbus North (10-2-2) and No. 16 Lawrenceburg (11-3) facing No. 17 East Central (10-2-1).
Triton Central Sectional
The Tigers (7-7) are the host school and received the bye to the semifinals where they will face either Knightstown (5-4-1) or Indianapolis Lutheran (9-3-1).
The other Class A, sectional semifinal pits Greenwood Christian (6-4-1) against Indianapolis Scecina (4-7).
