Landon Sanders RBI double in the bottom of the 7th inning drove home the winning run as the Lawrenceville Indians rallied from a 4-2 deficit to beat the North Clay Cardinals 5-4
The visitors broke a 2-2 tie with runs in the fifth and seventh and appeared ready for a road win, but the Tribe responded in the bottom of the 7th. Noah Wilson keyed the big inning with a 1 out walk. Maddux Pargin followed with a booming double to left center to score Wilson and make it 4-2.
Eli Vennard cracked an opposite field double to left to tie the game at 4-4. Neilan Bickers was walked intentionally to set up Sanders' game-winning hit, which scored Vennard with the winning run from second. The Indians scored 5 runs on 6 hits with 2 errors while the Cardinals had 4 runs on 6 hits and made 1 error.
Maddox Pargin picked up the win in relief of starter Landon Sanders who went 6 innings.
The win was the second straight for the Indians who are 7-5-1 and will host Union Dugger (Ind) Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
