Morristown baseball scored in five of the six innings played to secure its first victory of the season.
On Monday at Tri, the Yellow Jackets produced 11 hits, including four doubles, in a 12-2 win over the Titans.
Cole Helton had four hits and scored three runs for Morristown. Mitchell Ronan had two doubles. Jake Miesse and Russ Kleine each had two hits.
Landon Rinzel (four innings, two hits, four strikeouts) and Michael Ballinger (two innings, no hits, three strikeouts) combined to limit the Titans to two hits.
Morristown (1-2) is at North Decatur (1-0) Thursday.

At Waldron, the Shiners broke open a tight game with a 9-run fourth inning.
Landon Simpson had two hits and scored three runs for Rising Sun (1-2). Caleb Powell had three RBI.
Weston Cumberworth limited the Mohawks (0-1) to just one hit and struck out nine in five innings.
Jackson Kuhn took the loss for Waldron.
The Mohawks host Oldenburg Academy (0-1) today.

Batesville 8, Morristown 6
At Morristown, the host Yellow Jackets scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh but could not complete the comeback to suffer their first loss of the season.
Cora Roth had two hits and scored two runs while Grace Copley had two hits and drove in two runs for Batesville (3-1).
Copley pitched six innings, allowed two hits and six walks while striking out 14. Libby Stephens pitched a scoreless inning.
Abby Hawk and Mykynzy Smith each scored two runs for Morristown (2-1).
The Yellow Jackets are at North Decatur (0-1) Thursday.

Waldron 4, Brown County 1
At Waldron, the host Mohawks won all three singles matches and added a win at No. 1 doubles.
Riley Thurston defeated Allison Blee, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Ava Leising produced a 6-1, 6-4 win over Chloe Sawyer at No. 2 singles. Leah Kuhn secured her first career varsity win at No. 3 singles over Elayna Stanley, 6-2, 6-4.
At No. 1 doubles, Waldron’s Emerson Lindsey and Jackie Corlett bested Chloe Pulling and Michaela Smith, 6-4, 6-1.
Brown County’s Olivia Sawyer and Ava Kinnett needed three sets to top Hannah Rouse and Madeline Walker, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Shelbyville 5, Edinburgh 0
Mia Robbins needed three sets to complete the sweep for the Golden Bears against the Lancers.
Robbins defeated Kinzie Purvis, 7-5, 6-7 (5), 10-8 at No. 3 singles. It was the only match to go three sets.
At No. 1 singles, Ava Muckerheide defeated Lucy Buck, 6-1, 6-0. Sophia Asher was just as strong at No. 2 singles topping Gracie Lawson, 6-1, 6-1.
At No. 1 doubles, Reese Fortune and Megan Childres produced a 6-4, 6-1 win over Bella Turner and Sophia Pace.
Ava Van Wye and Corinne Aldridge scored a 6-0, 6-2 win over Kaydra Peters and Elliott Smith at No. 2 doubles.
