Triton Central senior Maryrose Felling is closing in on two significant milestones.
With a 32-point performance Tuesday in Class 2A, No. 8 Triton Central’s 83-36 win at Greenwood, Felling now needs just 14 points to eclipse Samantha Dewey as the program’s career scoring leader. And by doing so, Felling (photo) will become Shelby County’s girls basketball career scoring leader.
The Tigers (16-3) led 13-7 after one quarter Tuesday in a meeting of future Hoosier Legends Conference foes. Back-to-back 30-point quarters followed to get Triton Central a 73-31 lead after three quarters.
Felling made seven 3s in the win and topped 30 points in a game for the fifth time this season. She is averaging 24.7 ppg through 19 games this year.
Quinn King finished with 17 points against the Woodmen.
Eliana Anderson led Greenwood (1-18) with 15 points.
Triton Central won the junior varsity game, 49-0.
Triton Central hosts Class A, No. 7 Oldenburg Academy (17-2) Friday for its annual Pink Out Game.
In another girls basketball game Tuesday:
