All five members of Morristown’s starting lineup that helped secure the program’s first Mid-Hoosier Conference girls basketball title received postseason recognition from the MHC coaches.
The 12-member All-MHC team features four Yellow Jackets and a representative from Southwestern and Waldron.
The Morristown selections are Nevaeh Cox (9.4 ppg, 2.9 spg), Emma Nelson (8.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg), Danika Rutledge (10 ppg, 7.6 rpg) and Nevaeh Sanders (18.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.4 spg).
Waldron’s Emerson Lindsey (9.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.3 apg) and Southwestern’s Tanna Tatlock (15.7 ppg, 12.4 rpg, 2.3 apg, 2.1 spg) also were selected All-MHC.
Other all-conference selections were North Decatur’s Madi Allen (20.3 ppg, 7.4 rpg) and Claire Kinker (4.2 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.7 spg), Hauser’s Norah Berkenstock (10.7 ppg, 3.2 spg), South Decatur’s Paige McQueen (7.6 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 2.8 apg) and Makayla Somers (12.8 ppg, 9 rpg), and Edinburgh’s Kenna Streeval (14.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.5 apg, 3.4 spg).
Morristown’s fifth starter, Olivia Rude, was one of 10 players selected MHC Honorable Mention. Another Yellow Jacket, Jayla Keithley, also was selected Honorable Mention along with Waldron’s Kiley Best and Alivia Fischer, Hauser’s June Berkenstock, North Decatur’s Kelsey Haley, South Decatur’s Makayla Puckett and Taylor Somers, and Edinburgh’s Kinzie Purvis and Bella Turner.
Morristown head coach Rachel Kleine was named MHC Coach of the Year after leading the Yellow Jackets to a 6-0 mark in the MHC and 15-8 record overall.
North Decatur (17-9, 5-1) was the MHC runner-up ahead of South Decatur (16-12, 4-2), Edinburgh (10-13, 2-4), Hauser (10-14, 2-4), Waldron (8-16, 2-4) and Southwestern (3-21, 0-6).
