Special Olympics Indiana is hosting a 3x3 Women’s Unified Basketball Tournament from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Morris Bicentennial Plaza.
Teams from seven county programs will compete with the top-two finishers potentially receiving invitations to the U.S. tournament in Michigan in November.
When not competing on the court, participants will have the opportunity to speak with Indianapolis health partners about female-focused topics.
The day also includes Special Olympics Indiana’s annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, where officers and safety personnel from throughout Central Indiana run side by side alongside Special Olympics athletes to raise awareness and promote community. The run leaves Morris Bicentennial Plaza at approximately 11:40 a.m., returning about 45 minutes later following a 3-mile run through downtown.

- Johnson County
- Marion County-Washington Township
- Marshall-Starke County
JD Foundation is the presenting partner for the basketball tournament. Bone Dry Roofing is the supporting partner for the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
