Lady Lancers fall in close match ELKHART — The LaVille volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to open the season at Elkhart Christian Academy. The two squads went back and forth before ECA was able to pull away in the decisive game, 15-8. Karly Unruh and Allison Medors led the net attack. Unruh collected nine kills to go with two solo blocks and an assist. Medors, meanwhile, added six kills. Haley Ross also chipped in with a block and an assist block. Natalie Gonzalez and Kalista Lemberis gave the defense a life. Gonzalez picked up 15 digs, while Lemberis added nine. Medors led the service game with nine aces, while Unruh and Sydney Coblentz added four aces each. Coblentz handed out 14 assists and Mia Mears chipped in with eight assists.
