It's a third varsity football season together for Plymouth seniors

Adam Handley hopes a veteran squad that’s been with him for three years at the varsity level is ready for another step forward.

Last season, Plymouth ended a 21-game losing streak with a season opening win over Calumet.

The Rockies also ended a 15-game Northern Lakes Conference losing streak by downing Wawasee.

But those were the only two wins for the Rockies. Now, third season head coach Adam Handley hopes a veteran squad that’s been with him for three years at the varsity level is ready for another step forward.

Handley says along with weightlifting it was a very busy summer of competition.

Much of the 2024 roster will look familiar again this season. Handley says aging, maturing, and coming together as a unit, gives him excitement for the season that opens with a scrimmage in less than two weeks and the season opener in less than three.

Plymouth will host the season opener August 23 against a new opponent.  Twin Lakes comes into the Rockpile led by second year coach Kevin O’Shea. O’Shea led Twin Lakes to a 5-5 record in his first season with the program after six years at North Central in Indianapolis. Before that, he coached Lafayette Central Catholic to four undefeated seasons and five state titles in nine seasons.
