Running back Julius May ran for 97 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Micah Lee threw for two scores and ran for one to lead the Kankakee Bishop Mcnamara Fighting Irish to a 58-0-win Saturday over the Lawrenceville Indians Saturday in the non-conference season opener at Kankakee.
The hosts rolled up 415 yards of total offense-219 yards rushing and 196 yards passing and lead 35-0 at the half enroute to the win. The Fighting Irish offense scored on eight straight possessions after their first drive was thwarted by a Kain Swanson interception of a tipped pass.
The Indians offense was held to only 55 total yards in being shutout and fumbled twice and were intercepted three times in the loss.
The 0-1 Tribe will return home this week for the 2025 non-conference home opener Friday at Ed Loeb Field against the Carlyle Indians. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. CT.
