The Lawrenceville Indians were ousted from the IHSA Class 1A Baseball tournament series on Monday, May 25th in a first-round Altamont Regional loss to the Cumberland Pirates 11-1 in 5 innings at Toledo (Illinois).
The hosts scored 3 runs in the first and 5 in the second to lead 8-0 before the Tribe scored their only run in the top of the third inning. The Pirates then scored 3 more in the bottom of the fifth to pick up the victory.
The Indians were held to 1 run on only three hits and made 2 errors on the day. Lane Jackson, Liam Morey and Elliott Gerritson had the hits and Audie Taylor the Indian RBI.
Lawrenceville ends the season with a record of 2-17 with 12 straight losses under first-year head coach Brian McCrary.
