Steven “Esh” Nagy, 92 of Clinton, passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2026, at Clinton Gardens.
He was born in Clinton, Indiana on February 16, 1934, to Gabor Nagy and Elsie (Mazarus) Nagy.
Esh was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; brothers, Otto and Gabe; and sisters, Jolan, Elsie, Margaret and Mary.
Esh was a graduate of Clinton High School class of 1952. He and Helen were married on May 28, 1965, and they shared 57 years together before her passing in 2022. Esh retired from Mike’s Motor Co., in Clinton where he had worked as an auto detailer for nearly 50 years. He was a former member of the Clinton Lions Club as well as an avid bowler. Esh loved the Chicago Bears and NASCAR racing. He knew he had a new home waiting for him in Heaven.
Survivors include his daughter, Marsha Guinn (John); sisters, Ruth Kelley and Martha “Dolly” Shell (Joe); grandchildren, Breanne Stone (Larry) and Jordan Wheeler (Cameron); great-grandchildren, Steven, Grant and Izzy, many nieces and nephews, and his good friends John Maloney, Randy Payton, Gary Payton and Donnie Beard.
Honoring Esh’s wishes cremation has been chosen. There will be a graveside service at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Clinton on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Coombes officiating. Cremains burial will follow.
