Richard L. Myers, 66, of Plymouth

PLYMOUTH-Richard L. Myers, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth.

He was born on June 12, 1959, in LaPorte, Indiana, to Richard L. and Ethel L. (Jonas) Myers. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Richard spent his career working as a semi-driver for Dykstra Trucking LLC, a job he truly loved for the freedom it gave him to experience the open road and see the country. He also enjoyed driving an ice cream truck, bringing joy to others in a simple but meaningful way.

He had a unique and heartfelt way of expressing his love to those around him. In his free time, Richard enjoyed visiting the casino—especially Gun Lake in Wayland, Michigan—where he liked playing pinochle and blackjack. He was also a fan of asphalt racing events and looked forward each year to buying a generous supply of fireworks.

Richard is survived by his children: Jeremy (Martha) Myers of Argos; Melanie (Albert) Miller of LaPaz; Derrick Myers of Syracuse; and Jonathan (Jessica) Myers of Plymouth. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Denim Gentry, Mickel Gentry, Leora (Skyler) Morgan, August Shriver and Shambri Games; and his great-grandchildren: Ezekiel Paul, Avalea Hess, Miles Morgan, Ezra Figueroa, Easton Kohler-Gentry, Ella Figueroa, Lila Morgan, and Wrenleigh Kohler-Gentry. Additionally, he is survived by his former wife and friend, Merrie Games.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Terri and Janet Lee;  his grandson, Loron Crafton and great-grandchild Baleigh May Sharp.

In accordance with Richard’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
