Patricia “Pat” J. Clary, 98, of Rochester, passed away at 8:11 A.M. Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru, Indiana.
She was born on June 27, 1928 in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Delbert A. and Bernice C. (Carr) Hoffman. On June 27, 1947 in Rochester, Indiana, she married Richard Lowe Clary. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1993.
Pat started her professional career working for the Lloyd Rouch Insurance Agency before working for Deamer & Deamer Abstract Company and eventually for a local chiropractic office. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Modern Graphics in Peru, Indiana and The Shopper in Miami County for over twenty- four years from where she retired.
Pat had been an active member of First Christian Church, a fifty- year member of Eastern Star, the Rebekah Lodge, Home Ec. Club, Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, volunteer Woodlawn Hospital Auxiliary and had been a den mother for Cub’s Scouts. She enjoyed her home, family, friends and special four- legged friends. She loved her yard, flowers, pontoon rides on Lake Manitou, scrapbooking, volunteer work and her family at Modern Graphics, Peru.
Survivors include her son, James (Beverly) Clary, Peru, Indiana, grandson, Erick (Christa) Dawalt, West Lafayette, Indiana, great grandson, Andrew Dawalt, West Lafayette, Indiana, brother, Art (Lela) Hoffman, nieces, Patricia “Patti” (Vern) Hibner, St. Cloud, Florida, Janet Hoffman, Rochester, Indiana, Susan Van Lake, Kewanna, Indiana, Marijane (David) Sisson, Canyon City, Colorado, nephew, Bob (Trish Smith) Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Ann Clary, and brother, Billy D. Hoffman,
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 23, 2026 at First Christian Church, 1101 Madison Street, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
