Martha May Rennick, 95, formerly of Rockville, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, following a recent stroke.
She was born August 23, 1930, near Bridgeton, Indiana, to Homer Garrigus and Xenia Loy Garrigus and grew up with five doting brothers, Homer Merritt, Lester, Marion Lee, Leo, and her twin, Edward.
She attended Bridgeton School, graduating in 1948. Afterwards, she attended Danville Normal College for a few terms. She also worked for Dr. G.A. Welch, Delakamp’s, and JCPenney, and retired from Parke State Bank after many years of dedicated service.
She was married three times, each time finding love and companionship. She first married Don Lang of Rockville, and together they had four children, Ann, David, Donald, and Mary Lang. After Don’s death, she married Tex Underwood of Waynetown, who had four children, Nikki, Penny, Pat, and Rick Underwood, and they enjoyed 20 years together. Following Tex’s passing, she married Donald “Pete” Rennick of Montezuma, who had three daughters, Marka, Rhonda, and Tricia Rennick.
Through all of these extended families, Martha had 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved them all dearly and delighted in watching them grow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her brothers; and five of her children, Nikki, Penny, Pat, David, and Marka.
Martha moved from her home in Rockville to Crawfordsville, first to Whitlock Assisted Living, and later to Compass Park, the Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana.
She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star Montezuma Chapter #537, and the Parke County Historical Society. She had a love for flowers, enjoyed decorating eggs for Christmas, and cherished spending time with her family.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Gooch Funeral Home, Rockville, with Rev. Lisa Robison officiating. Burial will follow in Rockville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
