Larken R. “Larkie” Davidson, 76, of Shelbyville

Larken R. “Larkie” Davidson, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Beech Grove.
He was born on February 22, 1950, in Indianapolis, the son of Walter C. and Helen M. (Bundren) Davidson.
Larken is survived by his children, John Davidson and wife, Krystal, of Fairland, Anna Davidson of Beech Grove, Sara Davidson and husband, Mike, of Indianapolis, and Tracey Fisher of Carmel; brother, Les Tooley of Prospect,  Tennessee; grandchildren, Sarah Fisher, Kamryn Davidson, Luke Schafer and Vada Schafer; great-grandson, Lincoln Fisher; sister-in-law, Becky Tooley of Buffalo, New York; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry Tooley.
In 1968, he graduated from Scecina Memorial High School.
On April 26, 2019, he retired as a valet at Community South Hospital, with 12 years of service.  He had also formerly served as an officer for the Indianapolis Police Department.  Larkie had formerly worked at Acme Sewer and Drain, for over 20 years.
Larken had a great personality and a wonderful sense of humor.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Larken also enjoyed being outdoors, weight lifting and cars.  He was preceded in death by his granddog, Maggie; and survived by his granddog, Spike.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 pm, Friday, September 4, 2026, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.  Funeral services will follow, with Father Mike Keucher officiating.
Inurnment will be at Rock Creek Cemetery at a later date.
