John Wesley “Jack” Sciotto, 94, of Rosedale, Indiana passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, in his residence.
He was a retired farmer. He was born on January 3, 1932, in Diamond, Indiana to the late Angelo Sciotto and Berchie Grayless Sciotto.
Survivors included his wife of 74 years, Lois Carloyn Clouse Sciotto whom he married October 20, 1951, in Brazil. Also surviving, two sons, John Michael Sciotto and Roger William (Tracey) Sciotto both of Rosedale; daughter, Lisa Kay Sciotto of Rockville; brother, Norman “Bill” Sciotto of Brazil; sister, Linda Kay (Leslie) Webster of Rosedale; five grandchildren, John, Brandon, Krista, Evin, and Beau; seven great-grandchildren, Kaydin, Jackson, Boston, Londyn, Keddiryk, Hudson, and Carolina.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dale Sciotto on March 22, 1994.
He was a 1951 graduate of Bridgeton High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving in the 35th Infantry Regiment, receiving the Korean service ribbon, bronze service star, United Nations service medal, National defense service medal, Republic of Korea Presidential unit citation, and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a 50+ year member of Parke Masonic Lodge #8, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute, Parke County Low 12 Club, American Legion Tony Kashon post 290 in Rosedale, Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Taylor post 1752, and AMVETS post 61. He also served as a Parke County Commissioner. He bowled on Tuesday night bowling league at the Rockville Bowl for years. He enjoyed Go-Kart racing, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding euchre, playing pool and Quail hunting.
Memorial services will be Saturday March 28 at 3:00 pm in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. Inurnment with military graveside honors will follow in Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton. Memorial visitation is from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Saturday.
