Howard Junior (Jitter) Childress, age 87, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
Howard Junior (Jitter) Childress, age 87, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born December 1, 1938, in Bond Township, Illinois, the son of Howard Hiram Childress and Mabel Dell Piper Childress. He was married to Laverne Cline for 59 years and she preceded him in death June 22, 2021.
Howard was a manager of OXO Ranches in Ridgway, Colorado for 25 years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Preceding Howard in death were his parents, a brother and a sister.
Survivors include children, Alice (Jeff) Johnson of North Pole, Alaska and Jamie (Clifford) Heir of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister, Martha Jo Kibsgard of Fort Myers, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
No formal services will be conducted.
