Fulton John Nellis, 72, of Fairland, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Greenfield Healthcare Center in Greenfield.
He was born August 11, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Albert and Ruth (Brocke) Nellis. On October 19, 1974, he married Gail Ann Brown, and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2024.
Fulton is survived by his daughter, Joy Nellis and significant other, Doug Dagley, of Greenfield; son, Johnny Nellis and husband, Jaron Fairchild, of Indianapolis; sister, Darlene Trey and husband, James of Windsor Hills, Maryland; brother, Albert Nellis and wife, Sally, of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his little dog, Leo.
In addition to Gail, Fulton was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Ruth Nellis and Charmaine Patko.
In 1972, he graduated from Trotwood Madison High School in Dayton, Ohio, then went on to work as a mechanic. He enjoyed model trains and cars in his free time.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 2 to 3 pm, Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St., in Shelbyville, a memorial service will follow at 3 pm, at the funeral home, with Pastor Mark Kern officiating.
