Dorothy Mae Toll, 98, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Morristown Manor.
Born on January 23, 1928, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Cecil Jones and Leona (Dennis) Jones.
She married James F. Toll on March 12, 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2015.
Survivors include 2 children- James L. (Wife Joyce) Toll of Loyall, Kentucky, Angela Comstock of Shelbyville;
2 sisters- Marilyn Gardner of Franklin, Carolyn Mullineaux of Fishers; 5 grandchildren- Bryan Toll, Jennifer (Conley)
Durham, Lindsey (Ryan) Burk, Alicia (Josh) Cotner, Brittney Mortimer; 11 great grandchildren- Gwendolyn, Josephine,
Benjiman, Lillian, Nathaniel, Caroline, Hadley, Harper, Reid, Silas, and Piper.
She was preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, 1 son Jeffrey Toll, brothers- Dale and Ray Jones,
sisters- Reba Pruitt and Norma Jean Jones, son in law Richard Comstock and grand daughter in law Ashley Toll (Brockman).
Dorothy was a lifetime resident of this area and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1946. She was employed with Hook's Drugs as a legal secretary for many years, and was a lifetime member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting, traveling with her husband, and playing her mother's piano. She will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones as well as everyone she knew as friends.
The family would like to thank Morristown Manor, and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, for all their loving care for mother during this time.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Steve Bohall assisted by Rev. Bruce Bannister officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13 from 5:00-7:00pm, at the funeral home.
