At a House Natural Resources Oversight and Investigations subcommittee hearing Tuesday, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) pressed Biden Administration Interior Department officials on their inadequate response to violent pro-Hamas protests outside Washington D.C.'s Union Station back in July, protests that included the unlawful burning of American flags flying on federal land.
In July, Rep. Yakym was one of the Members of Congress who surveyed the damage outside Union Station and re-raised Old Glory back to its rightful place after it had been torn down, burned, and replaced with a Palestinian flag by a large group of anti-American, anti-Israel protestors following Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech to Congress.
In his exchange at today's hearing, Rep. Yakym pressed the Interior Department officials on why the U.S. Park Police had so few officers on site at the protest outside Union Station, why those officials couldn't identify an exact number of officers on site that day, and if those responsible for organizing the protest would be issued a permit to protest in the future.
