The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Marshall and Starke counties, effective until 1 p.m. on Monday, February 23rd.

Lake effect snow is expected to bring additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible in some areas. Winds are forecast to gust up to 25 mph, which could cause blowing and drifting snow.

The Marshall County EMA Director, Jack Garner, warns of slippery road conditions and hazardous travel, particularly during the Monday morning commute.

Residents are advised to allow extra time for travel, reduce speeds, and maintain safe following distances. Motorists should also ensure their vehicles are winter-ready with proper tire tread, functioning windshield wipers, and emergency supplies.

For the latest weather updates and road conditions, residents can visit the National Weather Service website or contact the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency.
