41-year-old Paul Williams, who lives at the Economy Inn on Plymouth’s north side, was stopped just before midnight Tuesday when police saw him riding his bicycle on Michigan Street without any lights.
Williams was found to have suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia on him when he was taken into custody. Utilizing the assistance of K-9 Castor, further evidence was obtained, supporting officers in applying for a search warrant for Williams' room at the Economy Inn.

When city police went to the Economy Inn, they found a female, identified as Bonnie M. Weldon, 48, in the hotel room. Based on evidence found in the room, she was also taken into custody.
Weldon was also transported and lodged in the Marshall County Jail.

Williams and Weldon are both facing felony criminal charges for maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a syringe, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Williams is facing an additional felony charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
