Deputy Johnson with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning that resulted in the arrest of a Warsaw man.
On February 16th, at 3:33 a.m. 30-year-old Fabian Lopez-Santiz of Warsaw contacted the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center and told them he lost control of his vehicle and slid into a ditch in the 500 block of Old U.S. 30 in Bourbon due to weather conditions.
Bourbon Officer Craig was the first to arrive on the scene and advised the dispatch center that there were no injuries.
Deputy Johnson arrived soon after and called for a tow truck. During his investigation, the Deputy found that Lopez-Santiz was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for driving while suspended with a prior which is a Class A Misdemeanor and held on a $500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
