A Crawfordsville man was arrested for his role in an accident last month with a canoe rental company's bus that had several passengers onboard at the time of the accident.

According to Parke County Sheriff Jason Frazier, on July 24, deputies responded to a multiple-vehicle accident on U.S. 41 south of S.R. 47.

Following an investigation, officials said Michael A. Thomas, 35, of Crawfordsville, was traveling south on U.S. 41 when his vehicle veered left into the center of the road and collided with the bus traveling north.

Following a warrant for his arrest, the Parke County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Jason Frazier said Thomas was taken into custody and charged with causing serious bodily injury when operating while intoxicated, operating while endangering a person less than 18 years of age, theft-firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a scheduled I, II, III or IV.
