Solomon Newcomb, 29, of Rochester, is preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, resisting law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe or needle and possession of marijuana.
Police say a traffic stop on Sunday led to a foot chase and the apprehension of a Rochester man.
The pursuit began shortly after 9 a.m. after Senior Deputy Mitchell Scott with the Fulton County Sheriff's Department observed Solomon Newcomb, 29, of Rochester, enter a vehicle outside his residence at Northgate Apartments.
Scott reportedly knew Newcomb was wanted on a felony arrest warrant out of Pulaski County. During a subsequent traffic stop, Newcome reportedly fled on foot.
He was taken into custody a short time later without incident, police said. A subsequent search of Newcomb and the vehicle revealed a short barrel rifle, ammunition, approximately 153 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia:

As a result, Newcomb was booked at the Fulton County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
• Dealing in methamphetamine
• Possession of methamphetamine
• Unlawful possession of a syringe
• Resisting law enforcement
• Possession of marijuana with a prior conviction
• Possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction
He is additionally held on the Pulaski County warrant.
Assisting Deputy Scott was Deputy Jared Parish, Thomas Bauter, the Rochester Police Department and the Indiana State Police.
