The Waldron Freedom Fest officially starts today with food and retail vendors and the kids zone opening at 5 p.m. The two-day event culminates Saturday night with a massive fireworks show.
Today’s schedule of events includes:
- Waldron High School Alumni Dinner at 5:30 p.m.
- Hay Bale Toss at 6 p.m.
- Alumni Program and Wall of Fame presentations at 6:45 p.m.
- Open mic entertainment on the main stage at 7 p.m.
- Powder Puff football game at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday has a full schedule of events. Here are the highlights:
- Mohawk Trail Walk/Run begins at 8 a.m.
- Car Show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Parade at 2 p.m.
- Kids Zone opens at 3 p.m.
- Live acoustic music at 3:30 p.m.
- Brackish Water Beavers perform on main stage at 5 p.m.
- The Edibles perform on the main stage at 6:30 p.m.
- Wildheart performs at 8 p.m.
- National Anthem at 10:10 p.m.
- Fireworks at 10:15 p.m.
