Vincennes University has implemented a powerful new 911 Cellular Mass Notification System as part of its ongoing commitment to campus safety.
The newly adopted system delivers real-time emergency alerts to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, ensuring rapid, reliable communication in critical moments. This upgrade replaces the University's previous RAVE alert system and enhances VU's ability to respond to a wide range of urgent situations, including severe weather events and safety threats. Alerts will be distributed instantly via text, email, and the University website.
The system delivers messages with precise geofencing and user targeting, with an intuitive user interface that seamlessly integrates with the VU website.
The system has been successfully tested with students, faculty, and staff receiving introductory text messages. The University encourages them to follow the link provided to confirm or update their contact information.
By fostering open communication, VU ensures that all University community members and visitors are informed, prepared, and supported.

The Lawrence County Board, meeting in regular session, has moved to join over 60 other Illinois counties in a federal lawsuit filed against a collection firm based in Chicago.
The action was taken by the board after consulting with States Attorney Brady Waldrop in executive session.
The counties are suing Integrity Investment Fund, LLC, a limited liability company, in federal district court in southern Illinois over their actions in seizing property across the state for the purpose of collecting delinquent property taxes. This is despite a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that such action is an unconstitutional taking of the owners' property via the Fifth Amendment. The Illinois Attorney General's Office is also among those involved in the legal action.
