Vincennes University (VU) has announced that Adam Watkins will be the new Assistant Vice-President and Dean at its Jasper campus.
Watkins most recently was the Dean of Arts and Communications at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Ill. He has also been a classroom instructor at colleges in both Illinois and Missouri.
President Dr. Chuck Johnson issued a statement praising Watkins as a proven educational leader with a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence. Watkins also issued a statement on coming to VUJC indicating his first priority is to listen to students, faculty, staff and other partners and build on the strong educational foundation at the school.
Watkins will begin his new duties in August and will take over for Stephanie Stemle. who had served as interim dean for the past year.
