Since business owner Lisa Fellers moved to Rochester four years ago, she said she's noticed a gap in services for plus-size women's clothing, as well as a lack of sensory friendly clothing options for neurodivergent children. The recent opening of a unique boutique inside of her store Unnecessary Extras is something Fellers hopes will fill that gap in the community.
Unnecessary Extras, located at 723 Main St. in Rochester, has expanded options for its customers and now provides affordable plus-sized women's clothing and sensory friendly clothing for neurodivergent children.
The new boutique addition to the store is something business owner Lisa Fellers hopes fills the gaps of services previously in the area, so locals no longer need to shop out of town or online for their clothing needs.

Fellers said her goal for Unnecessary Extras has always been to make the business more than just a shop, but also a place where the community can come together. Whether it be her many vendors who sell antiques, collectibles and artisanal creations, or her customers, Fellers strives to make all who come into her shop feel seen, valued and welcome. The unique boutique is something Fellers hopes strengthens that goal.
Fellers said they plan on expanding the clothing options as time goes on, and what they currently have in stock is just a start. Fellers encourages shoppers to make requests for clothing items she can order in the future, whether it be favorite colors, styles or brands.
