The Lawrence County Unit #20 Board of Education is losing a member.
Superintendent Doug Daugherty indicated this week that candidates are being sought to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Region 6 representative Dana Goodwin. Her successor will fill the seat until the 2025 school board elections. To be eligible, a person must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, an Illinois resident, a registered voter and reside in Region 6 of the CUSD #20 District. Those interested can submit a letter in person at the Unit #20 District Office at 1802 Cedar Street in Lawrenceville or mail it to that same address. Applications can also be emailed to ddaugherty@cusd20.net. or call (618) 943-2326. Applications must be received no later than Friday July 12th. The board has 60 days to fill the vacancy.
