The south-gymnasium renovation project at Red Hill Jr/Sr High School in Bridgeport is almost done. That assessment made by Unit #10 Superintendent Jakie Walker to the board of education Wednesday night.
Walker indicated that crews will be working to finish up final punch list touch up items over the next couple of weeks. Once those are completed, a public open house will be announced so district patrons can see the work. The project is being paid for through the sale of over $11 million in general obligation bonds approved in June.
The board also approved the tentative certificate of tax levy upon recommendation of its finance committee. The levy is a 9.51% increase over the previous year for the district so there will be a truth in taxation hearing set for Wednesday, December 17th at 7:15 p.m.
