The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that construction on a reduced conflict intersection (RCI) at the intersection of U.S. 40 and County Road 600 E. in Hancock County is moving into Phase 2.
Beginning on or after Monday, October 5, the south side of C.R. 600 E. will reopen at the intersection with U.S. 40. At that time, no left turns will be allowed in any direction at the intersection due to crews working in the median. Right turns will be allowed at each leg of the intersection.
U.S. 40 eastbound and westbound remain reduced to one lane around the intersection with C.R. 600 E. Motorists should stay alert for changing traffic patterns in the area and follow all traffic directions and signage carefully. Construction is expected to be complete by Christmas. At that time, left turns from U.S. 40 onto C.R. 600 E. will be restored.
