Two people on a motorcycle were injured in a collision with a truck.
Just after 5 p.m. Monday, the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, along with Starke County EMS and the Knox Fire Department, responded to a personal injury crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 35 and County Road 250 South. The crash involved a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Upon arrival, first responders determined the motorcycle was occupied by a male driver and a female passenger, while the Chevrolet Silverado was operated by a male driver.
Preliminary investigation indicates the Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 35 and attempted to turn east onto County Road 250 South. The vehicle turned into the path of the northbound Harley-Davidson, resulting in a collision.
Both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected upon impact.
Due to injuries sustained in the crash, both motorcycle occupants were airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend by Lutheran Air and Samaritan Air for treatment. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was not injured.
Both vehicles were removed from the scene by a towing service.
The crash remains under investigation by the Starke County Sheriff’s Office.
