Two Marshall County women with extensive community involvement have announced their candidacies for township advisory board positions in the upcoming election.
Kendra Hundt, a Democrat, is running for the West Township Advisory Board, bringing a unique combination of education, mental health, and business experience to the race.
Born and raised on a small dairy farm in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Hundt planted roots in Indiana when she attended Goshen College to earn a degree in secondary education. While a student, she met her husband, Jason Hundt, a Plymouth native. The couple has lived in Plymouth for 28 years and raised two children.
Hundt earned a master's degree in counseling and human services from Indiana University in 2001. She is a licensed educator and mental health counselor in Indiana and has worked in public education and private practice for 25 years.
Recently, Hundt and her husband purchased and now operate Hundt Concrete, a small family business. They are second-generation owners of the company, which was created 50 years ago.
"The intersection of business and human services experience is an asset," Hundt stated. "My goal is to work with members of my community to ensure fiscal sustainability and quality of life for all township residents."

Anna Corbett, a lifelong Plymouth and Marshall County resident, has filed for the Center Township Advisory Board, bringing more than two decades of healthcare experience and extensive community volunteer work.
Corbett has worked for Miller's Health Systems for over 20 years and currently serves as admissions and marketing director at Miller's Assisted Living. Her career began at age 14 with the parks department, followed by summer work at Pilgrim Manor under Dean and Clarisse Byers, and eight years in customer service at Sprint before her current position.
Corbett's volunteer work spans numerous organizations and causes including the Marshall County Blueberry Festival pageant volunteer, information booth, and parade judge; Junior Achievement; Leadership Marshall County and Youth Leadership Marshall County; Habitat for Humanity; the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce; and Senior Expo. Corbet is the co-founder of Marshall County TRIAD, an organization partnering law enforcement with seniors to improve the quality of life. She also volunteers with the Rees Theater, Dustin's Place, and is a Foster parent for Marshall County Humane Society.
She is a member and past president and secretary of Plymouth Kiwanis, and also belongs to the Lions Club and Fitness Forum.
Corbett graduated from Plymouth High School, where she participated in volleyball (which she now referees), basketball, and managed the tennis team. She was involved in the Sunshine Club, Varsity Club, and Pep Club. She also participated in the International Order of the Rainbow Girls, a Masonic youth organization focused on community service and leadership development, as well as the Young Democrats.
She earned an associate degree from Ancilla College and a bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Corbett is a member of First United Church of Christ in Plymouth. She has one son, Brent (married to Beth), and four grandchildren.
Her uncle, Deane Walker, was Indiana State Superintendent of Public Instruction in 1948 and served as Marshall County Superintendent of Schools for 23 years.
"My commitment to the community through volunteering and my professional roles has allowed me to touch many lives," Corbett said. "I'm passionate about making a difference and dedicated to improving the quality of life in Marshall County."

Both candidates bring substantial community knowledge and professional experience to their respective races for township advisory board positions.
