Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott has announced the promotion of Trooper Aaron Price to the rank of Sergeant. Price earned the advancement following the successful completion of written testing and a competitive interview process.
A native of Etna Green and a graduate of Triton Jr./Sr. High School in Bourbon, Sgt. Price brings a wealth of experience and local ties to his new leadership role.
Price began his law enforcement career after graduating from the 76th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in October 2016. He was initially assigned to the ISP Toll Road Post, where he served for four years before transferring to the Bremen Post in 2020.
Throughout his tenure with the State Police, Price has taken on numerous specialized duties. He has served as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and has been a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon (TIP), the Honor Guard, and the Clandestine Lab Team, which specializes in investigating methamphetamine labs. Additionally, Price serves the department as an armorer and as an instructor in firearms, defensive tactics, and TacMed.
His dedication to public safety has earned him multiple accolades over the years. Price was recognized as the Top Interdiction Officer for Elkhart County in both 2018 and 2019. Also in 2019, he received the Top OWI Award for Elkhart County and was named the Toll Road Post Trooper of the District. In 2021, the American Legion honored him with an award for selfless service.
In his new capacity as Sergeant, Price will be responsible for supervising and mentoring troopers assigned to St. Joseph County.
Sgt. Price currently resides in Kosciusko County with his wife and children.
