Trinity United Methodist Church at 425 South Michigan Street in Plymouth is hosting two fundraisers this Saturday.
Beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting until noon or being sold out, the United Women in Faith will sell fall mums in the parking lot. The 8-inch pots are $10 each, or three for $25.
This is the first year the church is holding the mum sale. Member Dixie Lawrence started the mum sale years ago for the hospital, but about three years ago, it ended. She decided to give the flower sale a go this year with the women of her church.
The mums come from a local provider, Flower Farm on Redwood, with grower Martha Connley. Shoppers will find mums in the traditional fall colors of yellow, burgundy, lavender, and white, but they will also have new colors of mauve and pink. Shoppers may also find some other fall plants for their decorating needs.
The second fundraiser is their annual Wick’s Pie Sale led by Trinity United Methodist Church member Nancy Ferris. The frozen pies will be ready for pick up on October 9th from 2 to 6 p.m. at the church on the corner of Williams and South Michigan Street.
The pies are $10 each and have a freezer life of 6 months. They will offer 9-inch sugar cream, pecan, peanut butter, pumpkin, pumpkin spice, German chocolate, and a 10-inch coconut sugar cream pie.
The deadline to order pies is this Sunday, September 8th. You pay for your pies when you order them. To order or for additional information, call Nancy Ferris at 574-935-5617 or the Trinity United Methodist Church at 574-936-2519.
