Three individuals were arrested early Friday morning following a traffic stop on State Road 236 in Marshall, during which Parke County deputies uncovered methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and firearm suppressors.
About 1:30 a.m. Thursday, deputies conducted the stop for an equipment violation. During their investigation, deputies discovered three young children in the vehicle along with the contraband.
The driver, Lance Spurlock, 49, of Marshall, was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and three counts of Neglect of a Dependent. His passenger, Sarah Kochner, 29, also of Marshall, was arrested for three counts of Neglect of a Dependent, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
A second vehicle, which stopped at the scene during the initial investigation, contained passenger Angelica Holley, 31, of Herlong, California. Deputies discovered methamphetamine in her possession, leading to her arrest on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.
The Parke County Sheriff’s Office noted that any potential federal firearm charges would be forwarded to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for review.
Parke County K-9 Thor assisted in the stop and arrests.
All three suspects are being held at the Parke County Jail on $10,000 cash-only bonds. The three children found in the vehicle with Spurlock and Kochner were placed into the care of the Indiana Department of Child Services.
