The Illinois State Police (ISP) arrested a Lawrence County woman on charges after a traffic stop late last weekend.
43-year-old Cara Wimberly of Lawrenceville was pulled over Sunday May 30th by a trooper on patrol in Lawrence County. It was discovered that she did not have a valid driver's license. She was ticketed for Driving While License Suspended. A subsequent vehicle search turned up drugs inside the vehicle and additional charges of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (less than 2.5g) were added.
Wimberly was transported to the Lawrence County Jail and was booked in on those offenses. She was being held there pending a detention hearing on her release.
