The Rockville-Adams Township Fire Department, along with the Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department, Montezuma Volunteer Fire Department, Parke County EMS, Rockville Police Department, and the Parke County Sheriff’s Department, were dispatched Thursday afternoon to a report of a vehicle in the water at the Old Sanitarium Bridge.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located a vehicle submerged in the water with three occupants inside.
Through the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies, all three individuals were safely rescued from the vehicle. They were evaluated at the scene by Parke County EMS and released without the need for further medical treatment.
The Rockville-Adams Township Fire Department would like to remind motorists: When you encounter high water covering a roadway, turn around and find an alternate route. Floodwaters can be deeper and more dangerous than they appear, creating life-threatening conditions in a matter of seconds.
The Rockville-Adams Township Fire Department extends its appreciation to all agencies involved for their quick response and teamwork in ensuring a successful outcome.
