A traffic stop on a car traveling over 100 miles per hour resulted in three arrests on multiple drug charges.
About 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Indiana State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Toyota Camry for traveling in excess of 100 mph on US 31 in Rochester. During the stop, the trooper identified the driver as Liriannys Andrea Munoz Navarro, 22, from Newark, NJ. Also in the vehicle were two passengers, identified as Marilyn Emilia Mendoza Ceballos, 32, from Newark, NJ, and Gianluca Jaramillo Revelo, 23, from Queens, NY.
While interacting with Navarro, the trooper observed indicators of potential criminal activity and requested the assistance of a K-9 unit. Deputy James Biddle of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded with his K-9 partner Agi, who alerted the officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed suspected methamphetamine, a controlled substance, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Additionally, a bag of suspected narcotics was located in a nearby ditch, which was believed to have come from the vehicle. Munoz Navarro, Mendoza Cebellos, and Revelo were taken into custody and transported to the Fulton County Jail.
The suspected narcotics will be sent to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for an exact determination of the substance.
