A crash on U.S. 31 near State Road 10 Friday afternoon sent three to the hospital.
Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident at 4:48 p.m.
The police report states that 75-year-old William Halliar of Michigan City was traveling north on U.S. 31 in a 1999 Ford Econoline van when he swerved to avoid a collision but ended up colliding with a 2019 Ford EcoSport driven by Lindsay Wilson, 30 from Kewanna. The impact of that initial crash caused damage to a 2022 Honda CRV that was being driven by Amanda Corder, 36, of Westfield.
73-year-old Jeannie Halliar of Michigan City was a passenger in the Ford van. She was airlifted from the scene with injuries that were incapacitating. The van driver, William Halliar, and the driver of the EcoSport, Lindsay Wilson, received minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to the hospital.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Argos Police, Argos EMS, Argos Fire, Culver EMS, the Plymouth Fire Department, and Samaritan Air.
