“The Passion of the Christ” is the special Good Friday date night movie at The REES in downtown Plymouth.
Directed by Mel Gibson, the movie depicts the final 12 hours of the life of Jesus (played by Jim Caviezel) before the crucifixion. Based on the New Testament, it depicts Judas betraying Jesus by handing him over to Roman officials; his torture; and being forced to carry the cross through the streets of Jerusalem; then nailed to it at Calvary. He dies, but not before a last act of grace.
The movie is rated R. Like all date night movies, only adults 18 and over can attend. Tickets are $5 and available online at reesthreatre.com, at Fernbaugh’s Jewelry at 206 N. Michigan Street, and at the door 45 minutes before the 7:30 p.m. showing.
