For Evie Land, owning a business like The 1880 Mustard Seed has always been a dream.
On Wednesday, that dream became a reality as The 1880 Mustard Seed opened in downtown Rockville at 102 S. Market St.
"This has been a dream of mine, and with my husband's support and encouragement, it became possible. With the love of our family and a little faith, that dream has come to life and here we are," Land told The Parke County Post.
After opening at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Land said the first day was "truly amazing."
"We were blown away by all the support and smiling faces that came through the door. It felt so good to finally share what we've been working toward with the community," Land said.
The 1880 Mustard Seed's name originates from the building it is located in being built in 1880, according to Land.
"This historic space now holds a dream made possible by faith as small as a mustard seed -- a faith that has carried us to this moment," Land said.
The business features a menu with coffee, teas, speciality drinks, homemade baked goods and lunch options made with love, Land said.
"Reaching this dream has been such a blessing. It has been years of planning, praying and hard work, so to finally stand inside The 1880 Mustard Seed and see it full of people enjoying themselves is an indescribable feeling," Land admitted.
The 1880 Mustard Seed is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
