Adam Thacker has officially taken over as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) in Vincennes.
Thacker, who is a Lawrence County native with ties to the Bridgeport area, replaces Rob McLin, who retired Tuesday. McLin spent 34 years at the medical facility, including the last 15 as President and CEO.
Thacker has served as Chief Administrative Officer for over 10 years and was selected by the GSH Board of Governors to succeed McLin last year. Since then, the duo has been working to make the leadership transition smooth.
During his tenure, McLin is credited with expanding hospital services and major facilities projects. In a statement, he indicated it had been an honor and privilege to serve the medical needs of Knox County and surrounding communities and thanked the hospital board for their vision and foresight which drove positive change during his time as President and CEO.
