Jorge Terrones, 39, of Miner Street in Plymouth, was arrested on Monday, October 6th, after a city police officer observed the vehicle he drives at a gas station and knew he was suspended.
At 10:30 Monday night, one of the Plymouth Police Officers noticed Terrones’s vehicle at the Family Express on West Jefferson Street and observed him get out of the driver’s door.
The officer sat across the street waiting for Terrones to leave the gas station. When he came out, Terrones got into another vehicle and left the gas station, heading north on Oak Drive.
Another city officer tried to catch up with Terrones to conduct a traffic stop. Terrones was driving at a high rate of speed and turned east on Harrison Street, still traveling above the speed limit. The officer located the vehicle in the 800 block of Seventh Street, but Terrones had gotten out of the vehicle and ran.
Officers were impounding the Ford truck and then planned to impound the Dodge that he drove to the gas station when family arrived on scene, contacted Terrones, and had him turn himself in.
Terrones was taken into custody, transported to the Marshall County Jail, and booked in for driving while suspended with a prior and resisting law enforcement. He was held on a $1500 cash bond.
