Work is progressing slowly, but surely on the renovation work ongoing at the former restaurant location at Red Hills State Park located on U.S. 50 between Bridgeport and Sumner in Lawrence County.
Michelle Brooks, owner of HV Foods and Spirits in Olney has taken over the building located on the south side of the park, renamed HV Food and Spirits Lakeside due to its closeness to the scenic lake at the park.
Brooks updated GIANT-FM WAKO News on the work and said that there have been some delays in regard to the shipping of equipment and with some contracted work to be performed at the site.
New tables and chairs have been received and are being set up, some work in the kitchen area is continuing and the menu items are still be tweaked, but Brooks now says that they are anticipating perhaps opening on or around Thursday, November 17th, 2026.
Daily hours of operation are still being determined. For updated information, Brooks says people can visit the HV Food and Spirits Facebook page.
