Indiana Department of Transportation contractor 5 Star Company, Inc. is scheduled to close State Road 9 just north of Hope on or after Wednesday, June 11, to complete a small structure replacement project.
The closure will take place just south of the Bartholomew/Shelby County line between County Road East 1200 South and County Road 800 North. S.R. 9 is expected to reopen in early July, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows S.R. 252 to I-65 to U.S. 31 to S.R. 46 back to S.R. 9.
This work is part of a $1.7 million contract awarded to 5 Star in December 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
