Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP will have lane closures on State Road 23 between Mill St. in North Liberty and Renewable Road in South Bend beginning on or after Monday.
State Road 23 will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the U.S. 20/31 bypass. The inside left lanes will be closed for median reconstruction.
State Road 23 will also have alternating lane closures between Mill St. and the U.S. 20/31 bypass. The road will be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic in the area where work is occurring. These lane closures will be for partial and full-depth pavement patching.
Work will be ongoing through the end of November. This contract also includes resurfacing State Road 23 between Mill St. and Olive St., which is scheduled to begin in spring 2026.
INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when driving through this area and follow traffic directions carefully. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
