The Illinois Conservation Foundation (ICF) is partnering with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to raise money and awareness for Illinois state parks.
Throughout this month of June, supporters are asked to "vote" for their favorite Illinois state park by making a donation to www.ilstateparks.org. Every $1 donated equals 1 vote. There are four groups of parks based on visitation and there will be one winner from each group. The park getting the most votes in each group will receive a plaque with the names of each donor who contributed to that park. Donations will only be accepted online. All funds raised will go back into the state parks system for such things as accessibilty improvements and new playgrounds and equipment. Lawrence County residents are being encouraged to vote for the state park located here--Red Hills State Park located between Bridgeport and Sumner.
